Alexa M Stachowski, Certified Dietitian-nutritionist, PLLC
Nutrition Counseling for REDs, Disordered Eating, or Eating Disorder Recovery
This specialized service is dedicated to providing compassionate nutrition support as a vital component of your eating disorder recovery journey.
My approach is rooted in calm, non-judgmental collaboration. My goal is to work with you toward gentle, sustainable nourishment and body respect, ensuring your nutritional care is fully integrated with your broader healthcare team.
What to Expect in Counseling
Our sessions are designed to be a collaborative, gentle space, paced entirely to your comfort and individual needs.
Counseling Sessions
These sessions offer a safe environment to explore your relationship with food and body image. We work together to identify supportive nutritional patterns that align with your recovery goals.
Journal Prompts
Between meetings, mindful reflections help deepen self-awareness and track progress. These tailored prompts are designed to be reflective and supportive without causing overwhelm.
Food Challenge Opportunities
When you feel ready, we can explore fear foods in a controlled and encouraging way. This process focuses on curiosity rather than pressure, helping you reclaim variety at your own pace.
Who This Service Is For:
for the safest and best treatment, Eating disorder nutrition counseling is only available for individuals who are already working with a mental health counselor and/or a medical doctor.
- Individuals seeking an outpatient level of care
- Clients who are medically stable, and have an established treatment teamĀ
- Patients committed to open, collaborative communication between all members of their existing care team
Important Disclaimer
Nutrition support for eating disorders is a collaborative service intended for outpatient stabilization and does not replace the specialized care of a therapist or medical doctor. While I have completed specialized eating disorder coursework and have clinical experience in outpatient settings, I do not hold a formal eating disorder specialty certification at this time and am not a mental health counselor. To prioritize patient safety, all clients must maintain ongoing, active care with their physician and/or therapist to ensure a comprehensive and ethical approach to recovery.
